1. Policy Statement

NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD (trading as NorthSea Transport & Logistics), Company No. 17199517, is committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all our employees, self-employed drivers, subcontractors, customers and members of the public who may be affected by our transport and logistics operations.

The Directors of NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD accept their legal duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all associated regulations. We will take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure that our operations do not endanger anyone.

This policy applies to all operations including: road haulage, same-day courier services, van hire, event logistics, AV transport, exhibition logistics and all loading and unloading activities.

2. Our Responsibilities

NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD will, so far as is reasonably practicable:

  • Provide and maintain safe vehicles, equipment and systems of work
  • Ensure safe handling, storage and transport of all goods and loads
  • Provide necessary information, instruction, training and supervision
  • Maintain all vehicles to the required legal standards
  • Ensure all drivers hold valid licences and appropriate qualifications (CPC where required)
  • Conduct risk assessments for all significant operational activities
  • Comply with all relevant transport legislation including the Road Traffic Act and Working Time Regulations
  • Ensure drivers do not exceed legal driving hours limits
  • Maintain adequate goods in transit and public liability insurance

3. Driver Responsibilities

All drivers working for or on behalf of NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD are required to:

  • Hold a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle being operated
  • Comply with all road traffic legislation including speed limits and traffic laws
  • Conduct a daily vehicle check before commencing work
  • Report any vehicle defects, incidents or near misses immediately
  • Not drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (including prescription medication that may impair driving)
  • Comply with drivers' hours regulations and take required rest breaks
  • Not use a mobile phone while driving
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when loading or unloading
  • Secure all loads properly before departure and check load security during the journey
  • Report any accidents or incidents immediately to the company

4. Vehicle Safety

All vehicles operated by or on behalf of NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD will be:

  • Maintained in a roadworthy condition and serviced in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
  • Subject to pre-use daily checks by the driver
  • Kept clean and free of obstructions
  • Fitted with appropriate safety equipment including first aid kit and fire extinguisher
  • Insured to the required legal standard at all times
  • GPS tracked to monitor routes and driver behaviour

Any vehicle found to be in an unsafe condition will be taken off the road immediately until the defect is remedied.

5. Load Safety

NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD takes load safety seriously. All personnel involved in loading operations must:

  • Assess the load before lifting — use mechanical aids where available
  • Ensure loads are distributed evenly within the vehicle
  • Secure all loads using appropriate straps, ropes or nets before movement
  • Not exceed the vehicle's rated payload or gross vehicle weight
  • Check load security after the first few miles and at subsequent stops
  • Use appropriate PPE (high visibility vest, safety footwear) when on loading bays or in warehouses

6. Accident & Incident Reporting

All accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences must be reported to the company management immediately. NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD will investigate all incidents and take corrective action to prevent recurrence.

Where required under RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations), we will report incidents to the relevant authority.

7. Risk Assessment

NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD will carry out suitable and sufficient risk assessments for all significant operational activities. Risk assessments will be reviewed annually or following any significant incident or change in working practices.

8. Emergency Procedures

In the event of a road traffic accident:

  1. Call 999 if there are injuries or a danger to other road users
  2. Make the scene safe and warn approaching traffic if possible and safe to do so
  3. Obtain details of all vehicles involved
  4. Contact NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD management immediately on 07889 689429
  5. Do not admit liability to any party
  6. Document the scene with photographs if safe to do so

9. Policy Review

This Health & Safety Policy will be reviewed annually or following any significant change to our operations, legislation or following any accident or incident. The current version is available on request and is displayed to all relevant personnel.

1. Company Information

These Terms and Conditions govern all services provided by NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD (Company No. 17199517), registered in England and Wales, with registered address at 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA, trading as NorthSea Transport & Logistics.

By booking any service with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Services

NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD provides the following services subject to availability and confirmation:

  • Same day and next day courier and delivery services
  • Road haulage — full load, part load and backload
  • Van hire — self-drive and driver-included
  • Event logistics, AV transport and exhibition logistics
  • Pallet and freight delivery
  • Contract haulage and regular route management

All services are subject to vehicle and driver availability. We will confirm all bookings in writing (email or WhatsApp) before the service commences.

3. Quotations & Pricing

  • All quotations are provided in good faith based on the information supplied by the customer
  • Quotes are valid for 24 hours unless otherwise stated in writing
  • Final pricing may vary if the load details, dimensions, weight or route differ materially from those stated at the time of quotation
  • All prices are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated
  • A fuel surcharge may apply on certain routes — this will always be declared in the quote
  • Waiting time beyond 30 minutes at collection or delivery may be charged at our standard waiting time rate

4. Booking & Confirmation

  • A booking is only confirmed when NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD has provided written confirmation (email or WhatsApp)
  • The customer is responsible for ensuring that collection and delivery addresses are accurate and that someone is available to receive the goods
  • Any changes to a confirmed booking must be notified as soon as possible — additional charges may apply

5. Cancellations

  • More than 24 hours notice: No charge
  • Less than 24 hours notice: 50% of the agreed booking value
  • Less than 2 hours notice or on the day: 100% of the agreed booking value
  • Event logistics bookings may be subject to different cancellation terms — these will be stated in the individual booking confirmation

6. Goods in Transit & Liability

NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD carries Goods in Transit insurance and Public Liability insurance on all operations. Our liability is subject to the following conditions:

  • We accept liability for loss or damage to goods in our care, subject to our insurance policy limits and exclusions
  • The customer must declare the full value and nature of goods at the time of booking
  • We accept no liability for damage to goods that are inadequately packaged or fragile items not declared at the time of booking
  • Claims for loss or damage must be notified to us in writing within 7 days of delivery (or the scheduled delivery date in the case of non-delivery)
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of business, contracts, profits or anticipated savings
  • We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control including traffic conditions, weather, road closures, accidents involving third parties or mechanical breakdown

7. Prohibited Goods

The following goods may not be transported by NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD:

  • Hazardous, dangerous or controlled substances (unless specifically agreed in writing and appropriate licences held)
  • Illegal goods or substances
  • Live animals (unless specifically agreed)
  • Human remains
  • High-value items (cash, jewellery, artwork over £10,000) unless specifically agreed and additional insurance arranged

8. Van Hire Terms

  • The hirer must hold a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle
  • The hirer is responsible for any damage caused during the hire period beyond normal fair wear and tear
  • Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at the start of hire
  • Traffic fines, parking charges and congestion charges incurred during the hire period are the responsibility of the hirer
  • The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful purpose
  • Sub-letting of hired vehicles is not permitted

9. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing
  • We accept payment by BACS bank transfer, card or cash
  • Late payment may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998
  • For new customers, payment in advance or on completion may be required

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to Terms

NORTHSEALOGISTIC LTD reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions. The current version will always be available on our website and on request. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
